Baptism, Marriages and Funerals
If you are looking to have your child christened or have never been baptised yourself; are thinking about getting married or need the services of a minister because a loved one has died then please get in touch and we will be delighted to help you if we can.
Rev Geoffrey Hays
Superintentent Minister
Geoff is Cumbrian-born though, since marrying Kathy from Cornwall, has travelled a bit including as a Methodist mission partner in Haiti for over five years.
Geoff originally trained and worked as a graphic designer so has a flair and passion for all things creative and artistic. In his spare time (!) he is currently a children’s illustrator for Roots for Churches and the weekly cartoonist for the Methodist Recorder Newspaper. He enjoys Beatles music, keeping active and exploring the delights of this part of God’s wonderful world with Kathy, Matthew and Ronan.
As Superintendent Minister of the South West Wales Circuit, Geoff is committed to helping build upon the good work that already takes place through the Circuit churches and encourage a deepening understanding and experience of God’s graciousness and welcome to all.
Deacon Jon Miller
Minister
Jon was born and raised in Leicestershire to a non church going family. At age 16 he started attending a local Methodist Church with a friend and found a spiritual home there.
Before being ordained he served as a Youth and Children’s worker in Aberystwyth and then in Bury. Jon enjoys all things arty and creative as an amateur artist and poet. He loves exploring and traveling, especially with his wife, three children and their dog.
Deacon Kathy Hays
Minister
Kathy grew up in a big family, on a dairy farm in Cornwall but has lived in many places since then, including the Lake District, Birmingham, Haïti, Bristol, Somerset, Guernsey and Lancashire. She enjoys being outdoors, the smell of cut grass and the taste of blackberry and apple pie. After a time as a Primary School teacher and Mission Partner, she was ordained deacon and became a full member of the Methodist Diaconal Order in 2006. She loves being with children and young people, especially in schools. She lives with her husband, Geoff, two adult sons and two very entertaining cats: BlackBerry and Treacle.
Rev Hugh-John Wilson
Supernumerary Minister
Hugh-John is a Supernumerary minister. He will be pleased to help you with baptism and wedding questions and support you at times of loss.
Hugh-John is a 'local boy' and has been involved in the life of the Pembrokeshire churches for over thirty years. He is married to the long-suffering Linda and has two grown up sons.
Hugh-John also serves as Chaplain to Pembrokeshire Scouting.
Rev Julia Skitt - Minister
Julia’s life has been shaped not by one place but many, with no real roots she has learned to belong wherever she happens to be — a gift that informs her ministry and the relationships she believes are so crucial to living together in God’s world.
Julia entered ministry later in life, and after serving as a Local Preacher from 1997. She began ministerial training at Queens in 2012 and from there was stationed in the York, then Shropshire and Marches Circuits, before joining South West Wales part time.
Married to Andy, with between them three children and three young grandchildren, Julia divides her time between Pentlepoir and the Forest of Dean. She loves gardening, baking, cold‑water swimming, but most of all being outdoors, where she feels closest to God.
Rev Stella Hayton - Minister
Hello! I’m the URC minister at St Johns Church, Tenby (as well as URCs in Reynalton, Templeton and Pembroke). I’m married to John, and we share our house with a menace (otherwise known as a cat) named Barney. For some reason I like lots of things that begin with the letter “c” - cats, chocolate, crosswords, celery and cake being the top five. Since we arrived in Tenby Circuit and Cymru are getting added to the list, but definitely NOT Corona!
